Key Fob Prob???

Went to open the wifes 300tdi (1995) and the little red light works but doesnt activate the central locking??? used the spare with no problems. I have put new batteries in and still no operation.

Do you think as the batts where low so its lost its code? can it be reprogrammed by me or is it a job for a garage?

It is the blue curciut board type fob.

Any ideas greatly received.

Just to add,

Have tried to re-programme as per the guide lines found in another thread. have noticed that the good fob flashes its light when held pressed, but the dodgy one flashes its ligth once only?

Does this mean the fob is u/s?

When I had a 95 disco one of my key fobs failed. It was the rover type with the 2 rubber buttons.

I discovered one of the micro switches had detached itself from the circuit board. I soldered it up and kept it going for a few more years but it eventually packed in forever.

Had to get a new one in the end.

There is a company on the net called alarm remotes who may be able to help if you do need a new one.
