Have a Disco 21999 TD5. Key fob has stopped working (guess this is RF receiver being baked in the British sunshine.) Tried a few batteries in the fob and nothing just the light comes when button is pressed.

Managed to enter my EKA code successfully and get the car started.

Anyway to keep the immobiliser off so i don't have to keep entering the code and waiting around when i need to use the car?

Cheers guys.

Got a replacement RF Sensor on order. If this fails anyone near Worcestershire (UK) have a machine to run diagnostics to see if BCU is at fault or fob?

Ok so all of a sudden its working flawless again, Could the unusually hot weather be causing this issue? It seems fine now the cars cooled down. I did think about this earlier and took the RF out and let it cool off and reconnected but it didn't cure it at the time.

I have seen mentioned problems when parked near radio masts etc. Causes radio interference apparently.

Yeah i read that up also when searching. Funny enough Three my mobile provider did message me to say work was being carried out in the area for the next few days. Its possible. Still think its the heat possibly causing an issue with earth or BCU with moisture. It's working fine for the moment again. Will have to rip the BCU out when i get some free time and check it for damage/moisture. Perhaps stick some rice or silica near the BCU to help soak/draw out any moisture for time being.

Cheers again guys :)
