Ive heard of kenlowe fans but not Kenlowe pre heaters why is this ? are they widley used ? are they worth it ? any idea of the kind of mpg gain's you can get ? and other benifits ? many thanks

haven't seen pre heaters for a while but were prone to cause circulation/bleeding problems and seemed to bit unreliable, never used one but most of the ones that I knew off were not used for long and often ended up being by-passed.

alot of engine wear is when running cold ,so if you preheat engine to temp first better for engine and no need to wait for heater to warm up ,never seem to have caught on in many places except extreme cold places, as engines seem to last long enough without, ive seen some that are like kettle element through core plug, and others that have heater piped into heater pipes ,good idea

Ive had a couple of kenlowe pre heaters and they are reliable enough i never had any trouble with them, the early ones are square and the later ones are round.
They always hold their value so if you dont like it you will get most if not all your money back.
I eventually removed it and fitted an Eberspacher diesel heater, this was a pain and kept going wrong so sold it and for my next car bought a webasto thermo top petrol unit and this hasnt gone wrong yet, but has been in my cupboard for the last year.
