Afternoon peeps. Hope everyone's well. I've had a few problems with my freelander when going over small bumps and lumps. It's as though the front wheels are going to fall off lol. I can also feel it through the foot pedals. Anyway I changed my drop link arms both sides with some help. However the issue is still there all be it not quite as bad. I've been told it could be the anti roll bar bushes. Now I'm no mechanic and have very little experience in the vehicle mechanics field. Apart from keeping my fluid levels topped up. But I'm fed up of lining garages pockets probably like everyone else. So thought I'd have a go myself. Now do I need to raise the wheels off of the ground or is it best to keep the weight on the wheels? also is it just a case of getting the nuts undone slipping the old bush off and slopping the new one on. Tighten the nuts and do the same the other side or is there more to it. I've found what's supposed to be a simple job turning into a frantic throwing session of spanners and lots of swear words. Lol Anyway thanks in advance for any help.

hi

have u downloaded the rave workshop manual yet and the Haynes manual are good as well

if u get a bar and go over all the joints to see if u have movement on them , easier if u out it up on axle stands so u don't have to put so much force into it

anti roll bushes just push out, have u checked ur wheel bearing by with the car up in the air see if there's any movement top to bottom and side to side

have a look at the engine, gearbox mountings etc , also the suspension struts in not having a broken spring

if u look through here and doing a search with regards to the front knocking it will also have pics and a description in how to change them

over time it will surprise u in how much knowledge u pick up and there is a huge amount of knowledge on here

good luck mate

Hi gstuart,

I will get those suggestions checked out I think. A friend of mine is quite handy in the spanner department in more ways than one lol so ill ask him to check out the suggested items and see wwhat's what. I've ordered some new bushes in the mean time as they were only cheap. Looking at the ones already on look like they haven't been touched as the bolts are rusty and it looks like one is half hanging out of the holder. I'll keep you posted.

Teddywood 1 was the wishbone expensive. I'll look at down loading the Rave files to my computer as I did attempt them on my phone and saw the file size so I gave it a miss. Cheers guys for your suggestions. I suppose it's hard to diagnose stuff by just a description alone.
