i like my freelander , i dont like the roof rails. can i or has anyone took the rails off permanent ?
can you buy protectve caps to plug where the screw holes are ?
is there any danger removing the roof rails ?

Yes you can get the blanking plates to cover the holes
just remember to put the bolts back in the holes and smear a bit of silicone sealer round the threads or next time you go out in the rain you and your passenger get wet:rolleyes:

try DBD100110PMD - CAP-ROOF FINISHER

and if you get 8 new bolts AWR4129 you can do as suggested earlier and silicone the old ones in place and you'll have the correct bolts for the buyer of your roof bars when you sell them on ebay!

What's not to like about them? I find mine useful for using as handles when cleaning the roof. They also prevented my car from getting scratched by low branches too. They probably also help absorb & deflect some energy in the event of a rollover too. They're stronger than they look. If you look carefully you will see that they're fixed above the A and C pillar.

?? I wasn't joking? I have a full set of blanks and bolts and been looking for a set of rails for my FL. I obviously don't mean a straight swap, let me know how much you want for them.

sorry to keep going on about the roof rails..

i phoned landrover, they said they had the blanks but wanted £45..
he wouldnt give me the part number ( saying it wasnt company policy )
but told me i was looking for front roof joint finishers

does anyone know what the part number is ???

the part number
DBD100110PMD - CAP-ROOF FINISHER seems to be for the rear of the roof

hi guys this is my last attempt
i have a 3door freelander and want to take the roof rails off. i am looking for blanking plates to fill in the gap when i remove the rails ( see pic )
due to conflicting advice and part numbers ( and land rover asking a fortune)
does anyone know where i can get the blanking plates ,finishing covers .whatever you want to call them from ?
does anyone know the part number i am looking for ?

thanks in advance
stuart
