K series misfire

Hi
I have a 2005 freelander 1.8 k series with a low revs missfire, I took it to the garage and was told it had a code for fuel sensor and fuel pump,they said it was £500 to repair,I have seen new fuel pumps on ebay for £60 if I bought one do you think this could solve my problem also is the fuel sensor in the fuel pump
