Evening all, still having big problems with my 2002 td4 manual not starting or turning over at all dispite the dash lights coming on. Checked all fuses wiring etc etc etc lots of helpful advise from you guys but still dead. My question is if as directed I connected a wire direct from the battery to the little spade terminal on the starter motor which the wire from the relay connects to then surely what ever else may be wrong with the car that starter should spin as you only have the main feed from the battery direct to the starter and then you are making a switch with the direct to battery wire. Any help greatly received .

Get your multimeter out and check for continuity of the wiring back to the battery. You'll need someone to turn the ignition switch to check this as the relay/solenoid will need to engage.

Also, check for continuity of the earth back to the negative of the battery terminal.

P.S, I've just said this in your other thread.

it will rule out the starter switch if it does nothing if it starts then look at the switch
