hey guys

just took a test drive in a 1995 p38 land rover v8 petrol lpg converted. And i was very impressed

this is the very car here

Auto Trader UK - RANGE ROVER 4.0L V8

the car is spotless and has had a load of work done FSH and alot of work done by the dealer. im not clued in with the common faults of this car or what to look out for. All seemed good air suspension etc had service history

im primarily buying the rangie for towing my 2 tonne boat as my car is stuggling with it. one thing im worried about is that its an autobox is this ok for towing ??

What are the common faults of this car and whats the big things to look out for, any advice appreciated as im a newb to rangies.

thanks
richard

ive had my 95 4.0 se auto lpg,for 7 years, used it for towing a 6 berth caravan for 6 to 8 times a year on 300 mile journeys, no problems. the only thing that i will say , is unless your lpg conversion has got auto oil feed, stick to using 1 tank petrol to maximum 3 tanks gas. and watch the temperature gauge. if or when you have to change the water pump, make sure you use original l/r part, cheaper copy only lasted 9 months(fan disconected from spindle)

thanks for the advice i was aware of the overheating issue, so i kept an eye on the temp gauge during the test drive and it was bang in the middle for the whole run. Which was a good 15-20 miles.
