I used to have one and it was an auto. It was soooo slow to begin with. I fitted a spider tuning box which gives about 150bhp and decent MPG, around 26mpg over all. Do bear in mind that the fuel computer will give a false reading once a box has been fitted as it determines consumption with a feed from the throttle sensor and ecu and as the box adds extra fuel to the output from the ecu and your foot will not be down as far for the same amount of power the end result is that the reading will be high. My car said it was doing around 30mpg after the box was fitted but a manual check confirmed 26mpg.
You deffinately need a box on one of these to make them into a decent motor.

Got my PSI box with K & N air filter from M&M for £314.00, cheapest I have seen on the net so far.
