Just lost all power

We were just motoring along doing 50 + then we lost all power and ground to a slow halt by the side of the road.

I have a spark at the plugs so it sounds like it could be petrol starvage.

Any one any ideas. We had to be towed home.

Fuel pump maby. What engine is it, petrol diesel? Check the fuses to the fuel pump to start

Hi, had exact same symtoms on my 1.8 petrol. Advice on this forum was to check the fuel pump, located in the top of the tank, under a plate in the rear floor. Checked the connector block, and 2 of the terminals were green with corrosion. WD40, wire brush...no problem since!

It's been into the garage and they reckon the fuel pump wad KD( Knackered )
They ordered me a new one, fitted it next day and the jobs a good un

£389 thank you very much. Pump £279 + VAT Towing me in £25, £39 labour.
I don't think I was ripped off.

You paid well over the odds for the pump matey.

The new item is about 2/3 the size of a 2ltr Cola bottle, i was surprised at the size of it.
Part No WFX 000210 and on e-bay they are in exess of £300 with a used one selling for £190 +p&p
