Hi all, Apparently I'm one of the few really happy 1998 4 litre petrol P38 owners, for these past 13 years. Love the old girl who still looks and drives like new. Everything works 100%, no oil leaks! Admittedly I've done some work on her, EAS, Air bags, Aircon compressor plus others. I'm sad to see so many folks having frustration and negative things to say about them but from my experience, keep up maintenance, oil and water etc and don't bust them up rock climbing, weren't made for that unless you have heaps of $$$ I've done heaps of beach and rough off road tracks without a hint of problem. Have great Michelin tires, steering spot on. I'm not a mechanic but can and have done majority of the work except when I don't have certain specialist tools. Getting a bit more difficult now as I'm getting on but will stay the course. What could I buy better for $7-10,000? This is a great site and tons of useful info, well done and thank those posters for taking the time, great help.

Hello dude, welcome to Landyzone. I don't have a rangerover mainly cos I couldn't afford to run one but if I did, I would buy a P38. From my observations on here, they seem the most reliable and they look nice. They all look nice except that one that looks like a mini clubman countryman.
