Hi,

I am just about to start getting my Series II back on the road for the winter. She is a bit of a hybrid, the VIN identifies her as an 88" 4 cyl diesel manufactured in 1960.

The engine is from either a IIa or III as it is shown as being the larger 2286cc on the reg. doc. Yet to ascertain if it is 3MB or 5MB?

The wiring is a real mess, especially behind the dials, at least two sets of wiring. The dials also look like they are SIII

I am thinking that it will be better to rip out the old wiring and put in a new loom. I am assuming that the 'new' wiring was put in due to a previous melt down, so too much of an unknown and an open-ended problem!

My first job is to weld in a new outrigger at the front of the fuel tank, also new, the metal worm having been active. The chassis looks to be relatively sound and I am treating and painting all that I can access.

The biggest problem, body wise, is the bulkhead, and I am unsure whether to just patch-up or bite the bullet and replace the bulkhead next year, assuming that it gets through the MOT for this winter.

I am intending to return it to as near original state as parts and money allow, except that I will keep the 2286cc engine.

Have fun.

Dave
