Just fitted a 2" lift

After spending a heck of a lot of time reading reviews / researching / thinking I decided to bite the bullet and fit a 2" lift. I've read more pros & cons about this than I care to remember so I thought I'd just do it and see.

I went for the Super Gaz medium duty kit, it looks great and seems to be the one thing Britpart do right! The front springs are standard length so I fitted a pair of Terrafirma -2" HD turrets and HD turret rings at the same time.

The kit went on fine after the nightmare of removing the old stuff, I soaked them for a week but still had to cut off most the bolts and had to cut the front shocks off as the bottom nut was not going to move, out of everything I removed the only bit that was reusable was the near side turret ring and the N/S/R shock.

I've taken measurements before the lift and will get some post lift measurements tomorrow when it's light and hopefully not raining!

Don't know if it's model specific, I am thinking it's not.

I did read that one, that was one of the threads that made me think I should just do it and find out for myself.

First drive done (60 miles) and it handles better than before, less pitching / rolling and the steering feels a little lighter.

The steering still returns to centre as it did before and I think the tram lining / moving around on the road is better but that bit could be in my head

I've dipped the wheel arch height and it's actually given a bigger lift than 2" as expected considering it was replacing 24 year old springs!

It's given a 70 - 80mm lift and now sits with the bottom of the wheel arch 930mm off the ground all round.

Well impressed with the outcome, I'll dip the arches again in a few months time to see how everything settles.

Thought I'd put as much info as I could on here as it might answer some questions and cut down on the amount of 2" lift threads - you never know

I have just recently bought my 90 and it stands similar to your's as it is now in hight I keep in contact with the previouse owner and he says it has never been lifted but the front springs are yellow the rear spring have been painted black but are yellow underneath the black paint with white shockers aswell but I defo think its been lifted though which I like as I intend fitting some bigger tyres too at a later date

Good stuff, I put some 235 / 85/16's on it last year so the Landy must be nearly 4" higher now than when I got it.

Can't get under the barrier at the tip now!

Argh, I had just decided I was going to keep mine the same height, now I want to raise it again!

I can just with about 1/2" to spare

Looks great mate. Mine was lifted when I bought it and the reason I bought it was how well it drove and handled. It looks loads better in my opinion and I 've experienced no downsides at all.

I just bash the barrier at the tip, they are not impressed lol

I used to clip it with my aerial and work light, then I fitted the bigger tyres and it wacked the light. Now I think it would hit the top of the windscreen! They leave it off at certain times for the trucks to pick the containers up so I try to time it right. They ain't bad as they let me in the exit as that has no barrier.
