woohoo that was brilliant lol!!! was so weary all the way watching temp gauge not road lol but made it full tank of gas now and back im happy i THINK its running not bad but nothing to compare it with??? maybe blow tomorrow!
if i can just get this stupid eas software to work i might get some progress!! tried cleaning with point cleaner got a fair bit of green out some cleaned loads of times with small screwdriver and then repeatedly inserted socket and still doing same thing!!
28s and a9s etc but no ffs but again it did lift to average seting i think thats when i shot to garage before it goes down again!!

to get the EAS software to talk to my P38 I had to adjust the "One Byte Delay" the "Two Byte Delay" and the "Idle Delay"

The settings that worked for me are: "One Byte Delay" = 375 Two Byte Delay = 375
Idle Delay = 75

These settings will vary with I think the speed of your computer. Change one at a time just a little and then restart the software each time. IE change One Byte Delay a little then resart, if no sync, same for Two Byte Delay same for Idle Delay. It's a bit like looking for a needle in a haystack, took me 20 minutes to get sync.

i been at it at changing these settings for an hour at a time lol bout 6 times cant get nothing but its funny how the suspension only lifts when the laptop is plugged into that socket? even though nothing still works

I'd check the connections on the EAS ECU and the delay relay. They're all under the passenger seat, I think. Could try just unplugging them and plugging them back in again.

Something's not right and it's hard to see how it's the socket if you are at least getting something back from it.

so do i have to remove the seat as i have these other boxes there? what does it look like etc?

No, I think you just unscrew the plastic covers under the seat and then they're all accessible. The ECU is a flat silver box (I think). Not sure about the delay relay though as I've not located mine - I think it might have been removed.

i reckon its the socket as they are know for it, solder the wires as said on t'other post an youll be fine!! mine wont read the abs even with the proper kit!

im just not 100% on this gav for my skills and doing it right lol so its cut off the serial port that i have on the obd2 to serial cable i have then cut the obd2 socket off the car leaving some wires to use as guide then solder the existing car wires on to the serial port and leave the rest out as theres a few then buy another serial cable to use is this correct? id like to try it but think ill make an arse of it

Is there none near to you with a known working cable who can try it out for you?

apparently theres no one on this site really thats even under 100 miles away everyones like a 3 or 4 hour drive!!
its a bit annoying lol

dont cut the socket off the car, just find the correct wires( in the diagram i sent you or use corresponding pins from the obd lead) cut the plug from the lead and solder wires to the car side, just strip some of the coating off!

do you still have my number?, if so give me a ring and i'll explain better!

ah right so trim plastic back from wires and solder some on ill have to get some wire then probably and ill need another serial cable and a more kiddy like simple diagram lol if im gonna do it

i think your probably right micko still not handy though eh lol as i think a little outside help from a master would help with a few niggles greatly
