I've been trying to save for fooking months for a set of 285 75 16s, and a +2" lift kit (as Im pretty sure thats needed with 285s), but as with everything bils bils and more bills kept knocking the savings off course, and I thought bugger it! And got me self a set of these (265 75 16s) last night. But Ive been looking at pictures of 285s and 265s this evening, and ****e, I want the 285s :( Hopefully I will like the 265s when they turn up. Anyway, rant over, bast+*d!

My 265's look the business... fill the wheel arches and all that.... BUT... they spray **** all up the sides - some may like that!?... and tend to spin rather than dig for grip on wet grass... guess they're only AT's - good on the snow though :D

Tyre size is always gonna be an awkward one. You'll always wish you'd bought the alternative to what you do.

Loading yer vehicle up with ballast helps to give wider tyres the same bite as narrower tyes in mud and snow but it means that you could be harder to extract in the event of getting stuck.

I fitted 265/75/16 special tracks to me 110 coming up to 5 years ago. They are fantastic tyres offroad, I have no qualms with them onroad except for the hummmmmm of the police helicopter hovering overhead. It's the s**t that they spray up the sides that gets on my nerves.

I'm looking at fitting new tyres as mine are getting towards half worn and the insa sahara pattern (which is the same as that used on the Malatesta kobras, marix puma's, yokohoma g001c's, fedima extreme evolutions etc) is what I'm after but I keep putting it off. If I get 235's to minimise the s**t down the side I know I'll regret it because of how well the 265's fill the wheel arches. If I get the 265's I'll regret it due to having to keep cleaning my windows and door handles every 30 seconds when offroad.

I've just posted pics of my new boots in another thread, got the malatesta kobras in 265 with 8x16 rims, I like the rims, but don't like how the tyre side wall , you will see what I mean in the pics.

Thanks guys, I'm really glad I read this as I had decided on 235 and then wondered about the 265

No way I want mud and dead worms all over my Landy YUK, bad enough when you get in mud with the trailer and it gets covered.

Thanks :D :D
