This weekend I'm going to pick up a Sankey.
It's a Narrow track with 12v electrics. I have set the Nato hitch onto the adjustable, feel ready to go. But I just had a thought, is there anything special I need to know about sankeys?

* How are they to tow compared to a "normal" 6*4 trailer?

* Is M12 really the right size for the bold when attaching the NATO hitch to the Adjustable?

*Are there any problems to tow a Narrow track with a 2007 Defender?
I know it might be a problem off road, but are there any problems when you stay on the road?

All ideas, inspiration or tips are welcome.

There's no problem towing one .....just make sure that hitch and trailer are matched (if the sankey is fixed eye make sure your vehicle hitch rotates,If the Sankey is rotating eye then make sure towing hitch is fixed i.e make sure only one half rotates )
A good deal heavier to tow than most comparable size trailers BUT they do tow nicely behind a landy as with a narrow track and series the sankey runs in the same wheel tracks ....with my 109 the sankey wont cut a sharp curve unless the 109 does shouldnt be too much different with a defender despite the slightly wider track .

As for off roading with one .....Pahhh !!!! what's to worry about ???

Take some WD40, and ideally some grease with you in case the over-run brakes need lubricating.
A foot pump in case the tyres need air.
A hammer in case some nutcase has left the handbrake pulled up too far on the pawl through the winter
And ideally a breakaway cable in case the Sankey doesn`t have one.
4 lessons painfully learned when I picked up mine
ps I`d pack a trailer board as well in case the electrics don`t co-operate.It was the only thing I took, and the only thing I didn`t need................
