Hi im new to the site and have just picked up a cheap 90 (200 tdi) when i come to a stop tend to get a fair judder even with the cluch pushed to the floor? the landy has not long had a new cluch and the judder seems to be comming from the drive train somewhere i have checked all the oils and all seems fine? any help would be good as im not sure where to start looking?

is it just a judder or dose it make a knocking sound too? sounds like the problem i used to have.

hi, its like as if i had forgot to push the clutch down if that makes any sence. it had a new rear prop about a month ago. its starting to worrie me abit thanks for the advice so far.
 
i agree with Aidie - mine does the same thing if my handbrake isnt pushed all the way down - shoes just touch the drum in the transmission brake and it comes to a stop like a kangaroo! Check that the handbrake mech is well lubed and that it clears when fully released

when i release the hand brake it seems to come about half way back up?. its not binding but it sounds like thats what i need to look at first. thanks for the help i was starting to worrie about all sorts

I would disconnect the handbrake from the cable, see how the handbrake feels... does it come up on its own (stupid question but you never know)

Can you move the cable by hand or pop a screwdriver in for grip?

Dunno what else, update us though please as got a ponder on it.

Park her on the flat or chock your wheels - with the handbrake off and in neutral . Grab the handbrake drum and see if you can turn it easy back and forth ( taking up the play in the transmission ) if you cant then that'll be a defo H/brake prob .
Your cables prob siezed or the expanders in the drum .
 
i tried to turn the rear prop the other day with the hand brake off and it wouldnt move at all but the front one would. i will check again tomorrow but it is looking like this is the cause for my judder. thanks for the help and i will let you all know how i get on :)
 
well i checked again today and the hand brake is deffently sticking i pushed the lever to release it and have used the landy today without useing the hand brake and no judder (so far) im going to take the drum off at the weekend and see if i can free it. Thanks for the advice i feel loads bettter now i know its not going to cost a fortune
