had to reverse up a road to let a lorry through earlier and when i reached above 8mph the whole car juddered and shook, it felt like a wheel was loose and flailing about but nothing happens when driving forwards only backwards................ any suggestions

had that happen on one of my 300tdi's and it turned out to be the hand brake shoes, could be worth a look.

I have just been through this with my 300 Disco. It turned out to be the rear output bearing on the TF box, it meant the handbrake drum wasnt running "true"

To find out if its the handbrake shoes, wind the expander right in (so the handbrake shoes are no where near the drum) and try reversing....if no vibration then bobs your uncle, you have found the problem....next step is to fix it!!

Let me know how you get on. PM me if you get stuck
