Hi to all,
My name is John I live outside Cardiff.I have owned a number of 110's/Defenders since the 70's.At the moment I have a 1998 300tdi.
The rear cross member on this vehicle has seen better days and needs replacing. So that I buy the correct section,I need to know the length of the extensions.I have tried bearmachs but they can't give me any dimensions!
Is there anyone out there who can tell me what the distance is (measuring from the bottom) between the rearmost part of a new cross member and the extension leg end.It is important because if I need a 1/4 chassis it will mean an increase in price of £210.
Thanks for getting this far,
John

aint that allways the case

I speak from experience sadly :(

On my old Series pickup I bought a cross member with foot long extensions with the rear spring shackle outriggers and still ended up having to plate out my chassis over the top of the axle, on a Sunday, and having to go scrounging for 2mm plate where I'd run out, was a lesson to be learned, and made all the more worse by needing it on the Monday morning to tow a horse trailer half way across the country.
