if that were me id be on the fone to a mate with a scaffolding firm asking if he fancies a challenge for a day :D:D:D by hook or by crook it get one in the back yard :rolleyes:

I know I thought about it but it's sheltered housing and they'd probly sue my fookin ass off.

One day matey one day

See you are doing summat worthwhile that people are watchin on and wishin they were doin the same. Can't be bad, eh

well to get this in me yard i took the back fence down and rebuilt it behind me with a few quick unscrew modifications means i can take it down and put it back up in under 5 minutes if i need to :D:D

best part is from the courtyard out back youd never guess theres a vehicle in there :cool:

Your lucky,iv'e done most of my rebuild on my drive, apart from when its been raining when iv'e had the use of the in-laws garage, and it would have been done twice as quick if it wasn't for all the nosey neighbours stopping and asking what i was doing every two minutes!

Looks a tidy job,one more series saved from the scrapyard in the sky, keep up the good work :D

cheers for all the support fellas

ive been at it again today and got pretty much all the arse end ready for the tub going back on thing is without thinking about it and when i stood back this evening to take these pics why the hell did i think 1970s indespension trailers and gokarts :eek:

weather permitting im gonna try like hell to get the tub back on and start bashing some more dents out of it im not going for the perfect not a single ripple nor blemish finish as this is a 40 yr old workhorse and i like it when they show a few battle scars makes it look more honest :D:D:D:D

Looks fantastic! How the hell have you managed to do so much so quick? All that welding & paint prep. The finish looks very good. Have you got a grit blaster or something?

"1970s indespension trailers and gokarts"

I see what you mean they are a little similar but much much cooler.

Keep up the good work :)

the wiring loom in and been sorting through the bugger by an inch by inch inspection repair and replace anything melted or bodged together unwound all the grotty tape and twine then rewrapped with pvc insulation tape and ended up with this

i dont know why i was ****ting meself with the wiring its not as hard as i thought and with the wiring diagrams i wa given i even took time to label and mark what goes where and does what ready for ease of fettling when it goes back in

Insulation tape is not the best for long term use, the glue gives way after a while. Get yourself a roll of self-amalgamating tape and wrap your loom. This stuff bonds to itself and will form a continuous outer rubber coating for the wiring. An extra layer or two where it goes through bulkheads etc. is like having a second protection grommet.

no just a knotted wire wheel on an old 9" angle grinder a couple of scrapers and a grit sanding wheel on a cheapo 4"grinder and a few wire brushes nothing spectacular but at the moment due to the type of depression i have it really helps haveing something i can work my aggression out on such as evicting the tin worm

by the time ive spent 2 hours going mad with the rust and welding holes up ive calmed down enough to spend an hour with the paints

im also rotating the little jobs around like ill red oxide one part then move to something else while im waiting for it to dry and just keep moveing round it in this weird way storing up the finnished parts untill i can reassemble a pretty big chunk in one go :D:D:D

had a rough night last night and got up verry angry and frustrated this morning so after an hour of frigging abbout willing meself to get on with it properly i finaly spent the next 4 hours heaveing the rear tub back on then beating the livvid feck out of the dents with a hammer and dolly still getting me hair off scrubbed sanded blocked primed blocked again re-primed blocked again and a final coat of primer got the rear tub looking half decent but still showing her battle scars

at the moment thr tub is sat on 4 bricks on top of the chassis to enable me to lift it higher than the body mount tabs so i can make sure ive painted round the back of them leaveing nothing to chance with the tin worm

i have also shot the silver on the trims while i still had some daylight left hopefully the weather man will give me half a chance atleast to lay the top coat on the tub fingers crossed

LOL, I think I need to get angry with mine. At least i'd get more stuff done.
Will you paint the cappings / trim silver or body colour? Mine have been previously painted silver (badly) and thinking what to do best to improve.

gonna do em silver as the galvanise under all the ****ty paint was i fairly good nick and besides i think it looks a lot better with some kind of highlight to break up all the transit blue i got for it :D:D:D

i dont fukkin need this !!!
apparantly this vehicle of mine has been deemed an illegal bitsa with a dodgy v5 on another forum it also appears to be upsetting some people who wont come on here and speak there friggin minds to me personally :mad::mad::mad::mad:

this has leaft me seriously considering weather or not to carry on with this thread :eek::eek:
i have also recieved threats of informing the DVLA of this vehicle saying it may be built from nicked bits :mad::mad::mad:

meantime while i decide what im gonna do ill apologise in advance for my sudden silence on the build for the forseable future and if i decide to continue ill still take pics n stuff for that process if i do decide to continue with this thread :confused:

to all those genuine people on here that have shown support in the way of advice interest and encouragement i thank you deeply i wouldnt have got this far without you all !!!;);););)

Get it verified as being genuine!
