Hello,
My 2002 Freelander 1 TD4 has developed a fault, it seems to be a little jerky when i press the accelerator as if its fuel starvation, its only just started this fault, i have checked all pipe work in engine bay, all looks good, pump works ok as can hear it, Any ideas please. Thank you

Try cleaning electrical connection on end of high pressure fuel rail under the left hand side of manifold (sitting in the car) It’s a plastic clip with about 4 wires and is hard to get to, you have to pinch the clip then pull it off the sensor. Then clean it out with cotton buds or kitchen roll and see if there’s any dirt there. Mine used to do it every few weeks but I sealed it with some special grease before clicking it back together and it’s behaved for a few months so far. Only takes a tiny bit of dirt to corrupt the signal. If you look at the female end of the clip it has rubber insulation so I presume it is supposed to be dirt/moisture free. I imagine it will want a new sensor at some point but while it works I leave t alone.
It’s fly by wire so any electronic block is enough to get in the way. It’s usually about 2 and a half to 3 thousand revs on mine then gets worse.
