Hi me again.
ive got a chance of buying a very low mileage engine, but its a jap import,
it came out of a discovery and im wanting to put it in a m reg defender110,
the only diff i know so far is that the new engine has an electric fuel pump,
so my question is , does anyone know if the new engine will drop straight in.
thanks again
Ian

If its a 300tdi then it should fit where your old 300tdi did.
You may have to swap a few brackets etc. but cant see it would be anything major.
However I've never worked on the tdi engines so have no first hand knowledge.

I believe the differences are in the intake systems, EGR e.t.c. but the engine itself is the same (different emissions standards over there). Just use your old manifolds and all should be OK.
