Hi All,
I have a problem that so far has me beat, not much hair left to tear out! The rear passenger, nearside door is jammed shut. I've managed to remove the door card, in itself a tricky job. I removed the speaker surroundand then the speaker which allowed me to get a good grip on the door card and then pull it off. I've reached behind the actuator and pulled on the various leavers with absolutely no result, both with the central locking in locked and unlocked condition, also tried with the child lock in both positions. I would also mention that the door button is remaining down and springs back when I try to pull it up which again I've tried with all the other combinations.
I'm thinking that my next option would be to cut up the plastic of the actater in the hop that might give access to the actual lock.
Please don't tell me that my next move will involve my angle grinder.
Thanks in advance for any helpor advice.

Hi, unfortunately if the superlock motor died after it locked the mechanism(which seems to be the case here) the only way to open it is to smash the actuator

Hi Sierrafery,
Thanks for your advice. That's what I was beginning to suspect. When I use my "Lynx" I get a stronger thump locking than when unlocking.
Have you any thoughts as to how I should set about "smashing" the actuatorso as not to damage the door?
Again thanks for your help, take care.
Mac.

I can't tell you as when mine went i asked a friend who is car tinsmith to remove it and all i know is that it came out in pieces.

Ok,
So I've got a replacement lock actuator! Second hand from a breaker, there are a number on ebay so must be a common failure!

Looking at the replacement I'm really unable to see how it was put together so rather stuck as to how to go about "smashing" it to enable me to unlock the door. Smashing the one in the door not the new one!

Again any help gratefully received.

Mac.
