Morning all,

I kept the old built in phone module and phone from my old xkr when it went to heaven in crash.

As Jag and LR were under the same ownership back then, I'm wondering if there was a common loom / common parts. Will it fit and does the 2.5 DSE come with the plugs on the loom if it does fit?

I really don't like blue tooth connections and would prefer hard wired and a steering wheel controls just like the old jag.

I have searched but not found much in the way of answers.
Thanks guys & girls :D

Two completly different cars with different wiring looms.

LR was under BMW ownership from 1994 to 2000 only when BMW broke up the Rover group was land rover sold to Ford who also owned Jaguar at that time (since 1990). In 2006 Ford then bought the Rover brand to reunite LR back with Rover.

When Ford bought Land Rover they signed an agreement with BMW that should the Rover brand be sold on they'd get first dibs on it as Ford didn't want 4x4s being produced with Rover on the bonnet undermining the Land Rover brand - this agreement was also written into the Phoenix four deal which is why when SAIC acquired the designs and tooling for the Rover 75 they then had to create the Roewe brand to market their Rover 75 based 750. SAIC management were furious, they thought they'd acquired Rover. This is the reason the 750 is a domestic product - SAIC wanted to carry on selling Rovers globally but the loss of the brand killed that stone dead as no one in their right mind would buy a Roewe over a BMW 3 series!

Should have cut the block connector/s from your Jag, you could have sorted your own wiring loom then

I never thought of that at the time as I bought a replacement XKR that unfortunately had different bloody loom.

I might go through the wiring diagram and see if I can splice it in somehow. It can't be that different now can it? (Famous last words hahahaha)
