Last year I bought my first Land Rover, a 1993 Discovery 200tdi. I’d always wanted a defender, but being 18 I couldn’t afford the price of a decent defender, so I got the disco. This January I finally bought myself a 1990 Land Rover 90 with a 300tdi conversion, it’s safe to say it’s the best vehicle I’ve ever owned and I don’t ever intend to sell it! However, as with all Land Rovers, there is work to be done. I intend to use the vehicle for work and everyday driving so will be modifying it to suit my needs, whilst fixing any problems and replacing 29 year old parts with shiny new ones. I hope you all enjoy my build and I would love to see your work inspired 90/110’s!

Thanks for taking the time to read :)

Looking good! Keep the updates and pics coming!

I’ve also got a G-reg 90 with a 200Tdi fitted. It’s on rostyle rims though.

Thanks Knappster!

Though the 300 is far smoother, I much prefer the 200tdi, if anything goes wrong with this engine I know what I’m putting in it!

Looking good on them 33s ;)

They 10½" or 12½" wide?

Big plans or drive and fix as necessary?

Make sure yo got good security!!!

DiskLok steering lock minimum an as many other things you can add along with subscription service trackers & smart watering.

Thanks mate!

They’re 12.5 inches wide on an 8j rim, however they only stand at 32 inches high, which is nice as they don’t catch on suspension travel whith standard height springs and shocks.

I intend to replace crusty old bushes and knackered shocks etc whilst making it a nice vehicle to drive daily.

I’ve got a steering lock at the moment, but planning to upgrade to a disklok and a tracker.

I bought a set of Recaro’s (from a golf supposedly?) to fit.

I set about fitting them with a friend of mine and god they’re difficult! We tried to fit the Land Rover runners on the bottom, but the seat base was touching the steering wheel! We got the drivers side in finally, but it’s not pretty  He’s making me some nice brackets this week and we will fit them on the weekend, of course photos will be uploaded of during fitting and the finished product.

I have to say although the position is not the final one, they are incredibly comfy and allow you to sit a lot higher (which is nicer in my opinion) I’m 6 foot 1 and my head doesn’t touch the roof like people said it would, and the visibility is much better!

I couldn’t imagine sitting higher in mine. I’m 6’ 4”, if I put the sun visor down, all I can see is the bonnet.
