Ive gone and done it again

Just bought a 1998 4.6 p38... great all round cept......lack of power when ya put ya foot down... bloke reckons needs new cats, Does that sound right?

is it vibrating or rattling?get down underneath and bang the cats if they rarrle inside then yes they foooked,simple and easy check,any pics?how much?spec etc?

dont suppose you fancy some nice rr sport wheels for it do you?18 inch?

Aint so much as a rattle but you can tell summat aint right, hse... cheap

Will that still point to the cats if no difff?

i would not say so lots of things it could be, norm if cats are gone you get smell out of back when its running

Ive just took it out, From cold it seems **** off a stick... got it warm and its holding back and its the same with maf unplugged, took a look under the mota and the cats are RED hot is that norm?

seems like a blockage,when you in p if you rev it does it rev ok?i had to hold min at 5k revs for a min then mine would vibrate and loose power

i wouls say cats mate do you have a pressure tested at all?

Tested nothing yet cept the normal basics, the bloke i bought it off told me it needed cats but ya can never trust any fooker , got it cheap enough to spend some cash on it and make a bit... hopefully

no the reason i ask is,i once watched a program and they tested the cats,they drilled an hole before the cat and put a thread in a tested with a tester and took the reading,then put a bolt in to seal it up,then do the same directly after the cat and take the reading again if theres a big difference then you know its the cats

It dont seem anything major cos its great from cold for a short while

id go for cats,is it on gas at all?
