Hello!!

I need a bit of advice.

I bought some wheels and tyres "blind" and although they are very nice they are a mamouth 32" across.

From what I've read I have a vague feeling that these won't fit my classic without some....help.

I've got HD police spec springs, and terrafirma shocks (std length) so I guess what I'm looking for is some kind of idea of what I need to do to the car to get these to fit!!!!

Any suggestions would be good!!

Thanks

Steve

32" across i'm guessing you mean diameter rather than across the tread lol

thast about the same as a 235/85R16, (or 7.50R16) they will fit but will foul on articulation you have 2 options as far as i can see fit a lift kit or trim the body

the only other problem will be your speedo will under read (you will be doing 50 and it will say your doing about 45)

if they foul I know an old street rodders trick, get a baseball bat , jam it in the gap between the wheel and tyer and drive forward so the bat gets taken round with yer tyers. that will flare your arches for ya!, it works I have seen it

I have 235/85 on my RRC, and the rears catch the front edge of the arch on full articulation.

The friction tore the surface of the rubber strip on the edge of the door (round the arch cutout) so I removed that.

I still get some catching against the jagged edge of the arch (jagged due to the rust bug), but my springs sag and are due for replacement, so once they are done I think it will be OK.

Thanks for that, feel much better about it having read that!!!!!

What? You mean taking a baseball bat to your RR didn't appeal to you!

Switch to a P38 and after a few 'issues' it'll be far more appealling He He!

HA HA

No, not to keen on the baseball bat idea, although I have seen it on the interweb, not sure it would do the Rangey any favours!!

On another note, nearly took a hammer to it today........I'm NEVER removing the wiper motor cover thingy again!!!!

.......On another note, nearly took a hammer to it today........

I share your pain - today mine chose to dump £40 of petrol over the road through a split fuel pipe.

Only found out after I had spent an hour or so investigating the wiring of my fuel guage sender unit to try to find why the low fuel light had come on when I had (or thought I had!) half a tankful!!!!

Well, They're on, and its tight, but not as bad as I thought it would be!!
