Just been to pick up a disco I bought off ebay for 500quid. It's got a couple of months mot left and a bit of tax but for the price I wasn't expecting much. It's a bit of a dog cosmetically but mechanically it's fantastic:D Drives great, really smooth and no clunks, crunches or anything you might expect from an 18 year old disco. Anyway got home and had a flick through the pile of receipts the bloke gave me and I'm beginning to understand why. In the two years he's had it he's spent 3845 quid on it!! Yes, three thousand, eight hundred and forty five quid:eek: All there in receipts from the same independant garage. I sort of feel sorry for the poor bloke but hey ho, never mind. Wonder if that's a record?

Yeah I'm pretty chuffed. I got it to tide me over while I' sorting me 110 out and eventually to use the engine, but I'm now thinking of using the whole drivetrain in the 110. It's all way better than what I've got. It's a sharp reminder of how gutless and pathetic a 19J engine is too.

I've just bunged the fat BFG muds off me 110 on it. Looks proper now, only had to chop a chunk out of the back arches and "tidy up" the front bumper corners a bit with a grinder. No noticeable difference to the performance even though the bfg's are about 2 and a 1/2 inches bigger in circumference:D

Guess there's a few ok ones about, sounds like a right good deal! Am also looking for a donor for an engine for me 90, seems the way to do it and if you get a few months driving out of it first then all the better!

That's how I'm thinking. If I can drive it about for a bit I'll have a pretty good idea of the state of any of the parts I want to use. Better than buying one without an mot and fitting the engine untested. Plus it'll give me a bit more time to sort out all the other bits on the 110 without having to rush it.
