Hi guys.. I have decided to have another go at these landrovers, last posted about them in 2007, i think...
I now have two series - a 74 and a 76.. I am confident one of the engines is seized, but the other was working when i got it, but is in a bad way.. so my thinking, is take all the working bits from the driveable one, and dump them in to the good shell...
just to add to the fun and games, i have a disco 89, which no longer wants to play ball..
however, i woffle on.. I have been hunting about for a couple of figures...
I am thinking of getting my hands on an engine crane.. but have absolutly no idea at all what weight i need to get.. i assume the bigest one of the three, is the discos V8.. does anyone know the wieght of the engine - i have seen cranes at 1 , 2 and 3 tonne..
The second weight question, I have been looking at winches.. all the ratings are in Lb's .. how do I start to figure out what i need?? again, i guess the disco is the bigest, so i guess its that I need to worry about..
is there a rule of thumb of rating based on weight?
I have more questions, but I'll create a second post for that one!
Cheers all
