had the side exit zorst done on me 90,kept the middle box and removed the rear box,but to be honest it dont sound any different,i know it was never gonna be a roaring zorst but i dunno was i expecting too much? should it sound any different

you have to be carefull about taking boxes off 200 and 300s as the lack of back pressure tends to change the turbo response

in what way does it change it?

Im considering making a custom exhaust for mine, have done brief reading up but not really gone into it fully yet.

Was gonna do away with both silencers (MAYBE!) and have a side exit one kinda like trewys.

Read somewhere that the optimal size for an exhaust is 1 an a third ID of the turbo outlet.

mine is straight through. got a straight cherry bomb where the centre box was too. no difference in performance, nice raspy noise though :) mine exits behind passenger door (90)

taking the boxes off will reduce the flow resistance for the exhaust gases, that's generally a good thing

too little resistance and the turbo wont be kicking in untill much later, that's a bad thing

exhaust design and production is a bit of an art, although on a 100BHP brick it's rather a pointless excercise as peeps tend to think if it sounds good it must be right - i tend to agree

:)My slitty TD has a small cherry bomb at the end of the system and it's quiet and goes a lot lot better and is more economical:)

taking the resistance out will make it spool up quicker but you can get excess overboost on some systems which can cause damage (friends supra engine when boom that way lol). best thing for a turbo is no exhaust at all but it would be loud lol.
