It appears I have a DEAD BECM......Possibly......

You take the key out to read the becm.

Put the key in your pocket & read the becm again. If the vehicle is armed you won't read it.
Use the EKA if fobs not working. If EKA isn't working, remove the becm & as I see you have the software, disarm the becm with the feature then read it again.

Marty,

That becm you looked at was armed. You can indeed change the settings but when you put the module to sleep & then re-read the settingas you will get french, 999999 miles, LHD etc etc, build date of 1912 etc etc. It just gives you a load of ****e.

Your issues are very similar to the ones I had over Christmas. After checking everything else I sent the BeCM to Brighton for a holiday, back in a couple of days, plugged it back in and everything worked exactly as it should do.

Bite the bullet and send it to Callrova.

Yeah, I figured as much... Except the build date was some time in 2097....

I didn't try changing anything, but myself and a mate have bought the vehicle for spare parts... I'll add the BECM to the pile of 3 I already have... Having 4 of them sitting around might push me to get the SM035 module to unlock them, like I've been meaning to for ages now!

Whereabouts do you live, isn't there anyone near by who has SM035???

I live in Swindon. Figure it is a useful bit of kit to have, especially if I end up with a load of BECMs sitting around.. saves paying someone else to do it!! I might learn something more about them in the process too!
