Hi all

Just a thought about a conversion i have a 93 RRC 3.9 auto and as you can expect its a tad expensive to run i also have a vauxhall frontera with the isuzu 4jb1 2.8 tdi engine

The question is how easy would it be to put the oil burner into the rangie i know i would need an adapter plate to mate the engine to the box the fronty is a manual box the rangie an auto does this matter ?

What else would i need to do the swap, is there anywhere to purchase a conversion kit

also if an adapter plate allows the diesel engine to fit onto the range rover box would it also allow the V8 to go on the frontera box?:D

Any help or pointers appreciated

I had the 2.8tdi zuzu in my rangie.
Awesome engine!!
My advise is this DONT match that engine with the auto box.
I found it really gay.
It would change gear before the turbo kicked in and be generally pants, great in lowbox.
I spent a lot of time using the 123d to change gear to get any sort of power from the tdi spescially towing.
You do want a manual box really and get a decent exhaust made up.
I had a naff pipe fabricated to the original exhaust and that was also gay:mad:
Got a custom ss job done in the end and made a real difference, then the rrc rotted:mad:

Manual box a must
Custom exhaust also a must
that is all I can offer I think:D:D

thanks for that a manual box won't be hard to source a ss exhaust is easy enough from a local firm

How did you match the engine and where you get the kit from?
