I will eventually fit my towbar to the Vehicle, honest!
Herself has complained that its a trip-hazard being in the conservatory on the floor.
In preparation for this can I check that I have got the following correct?
Sorry to be a nuisance and I would be grateful for a confirmation of what I believe is true.

There is a pre-wired multi-pin plug in the (Right-Hand Rear) light cluster housing, and its this one in the picture below?

The tow-bar I purchased came with a socket & cable but no plug for the end (2nd-hand on e-bay) so I guess I will need to find a matching plug & a wiring diagram. The wires look pretty flimsy for lighting TBH, but no less flimsy than the ones going to the car's own lights so I guess it must be ok.

Thanks both! @Mark Piercy & @wammers .

I am struggling to find a matching connector and terminals that I can make up to fit the pre-terminated socket in the light cluster compartment.
I shall have to dive into RAVE I guess because I can't find one on Rimmers site in the towing P38 section.

It comes in the tow bar kit which is megabucks. Think plug at left is for auxiliary power into boot, one a right is tow bar.

Yes, I am in the connector list for RAVE and C1375/6 are the tow-bar connector(s) but I really need to know the socket/connector plug type to search for on the web.
It looks like this and the schematic shows it as an 8-way female with a key-way for orientation.

Hi @Ratae :)
Yes, I looked at this this morning. But, I have the Towbar and a pre-wired 7-way Durite socket with a snap-cap and a wire "tail".
What I don't have is a little connector for the end of the cable. :(
If I can identify what connector it is, I can buy that and the terminals I can make the end off one it is inside the boot area.

Just go to Rimmers type in search "P38 towing socket" press search and have a good laugh.

You are a cruel, cruel man ;)
Yes, I went there earlier before starting this thread. I think I can do it a lot cheaper "IF" I can identify the plug/socket type and get the parts for it.

how`s about getting another generic plug and socket and fitting that in place of the original one, probably work out a lot cheaper and work the same in the end.

Just buy a complete male and female end and replace the lot.
That way you don't have to match up the LR plug.

Biggest one is 6 way but you could always use two.

I just cut the connector off and soldered the trailer wiring on protecting with glue filled heat shrink. More reliable than a connector.
I can post a complete trailer wiring list with wire colours if it would help.
That is very kind of you Keith, and much appreciated.
As is the help & advice from everyone.

I cant help with the issue, as I was going to say the same as wazzajnr and brian and suggest changing the original connector. However, I did want to add, I have never known you to be a nuisance , in any of your posts, so need to apologise for being one ;)
