Hi,

I've run my disco a couple of times on bio. Each time i did, if i've been driving for around 10 mins, without changing gear, when i do the revs seem to drop lower than idle (bout 500rpm) and then pick back up to idle bout (750rpm). Once it went to low and cut out completely, it started fine and didn't cut out again. Is this right or is it the landy telling me to bugger off with the Bio? Will it be doing it any harm?

Thanks

If it is Bio Diesel your using - not veg oil then it should work without any problems - some people feel a loss in power this is due to their timing being off in the first place - although will hack DERV, but probably not very efficiently.

The problem you describe sounds like a fuel starvation issue - which could be brought on by the bio diesels cleaning attribute and has left your filter clogged.

I would be looking into what is causing it before putting any more diesel in, I am thinking along the lines of the bio diesel cleaning grot into the injection pump and things...

Where do you get the diesel from, if its home brew it could be dodgey fuel.

Ye it is biodiesel i'm using and not veg oil. I get it from a place that sells gas, and theyve got a bio pump, and lpg pump, they order it from somewhere as far as i can make out.

Well i changed the fuel filter and cleaned the sedimentor bowl out after i had done around 500 mile.

So any idea's what i should look at?

hi i"ve been running bio for last 7 months had too change filter its allways run well no prob so far ,it did clean out the **** with a big puff of smoke after that it was ok.:)

Ok, so definately sounds like there's something wrong with mine then.
Anyone got any idea where i should start to try and get to the bottom of this problem?

Thanks
