Is there any way to tell the age of the timing belt by serial number etc?

Is there anything I can look for to determine the age of the belt on the D4. Service history was lost by the wife.

You may be able to use the QR code on the belt!!

That is the fan belt, also known as the auxiliary belt.

You cannot see it, it is buried behind the cover behind the fan belt.
Not hard, but a lot of parts to remove to get there.

Get it changed, if there's no history, showing that it's been changed.
I wouldn't want to risk it.

In the trade sometimes called a Serp belt… Serpentine.
If you can see the ’ribbed ‘ side and there are splits in the ribs then the belt it‘s due for replacing.

Google for photos of iffy serp. belts.

Plus 1 ^^^^

would also get the fuel pump belt changed at the same time , sits at the back of the engine and can be done with the body on

plus not forgetting the rear belt is timed on the D4
