hi guys further to my recent height sensor failure I figured I might aswell buy a diagnostic tool so I can clear faults (including eas hard faults) without having to go to a garage.

I was originally looking at the RSW all comms tool which will probably cost about £300 once customs and delivery from USA is included but then I saw the icarsoft i930 on eBay for only £95 which on the face of it seems to do much the same thing.

Does anyone have experience of both units (or any other decent value for money alternatives). Ideally I want one that can also monitor gearbox live temperatures as I've had my gearbox go into cooling strategy a few times recently so I would like to see how hot it's actually getting. It's to be used on a 2004 Range Rover vogue 4.4 petrol.

Thanks in advance for any advice

I ordered one on ebay recently and promptly sent it back as it would not do anything it claimed to do as my p38 2000 plate was TO OLD, all it could tell me was that my tickover revs where 800 while my rev counter shows 550, other than that useless despite claims it would do EAS, becm etc etc, got my money back, most disappointed

I have the icarsoft reads and clears faults on 53 plate l322, pinpointed which rear parking sensor was faulty, cleared duff transfer box ecu fault, reads a few paramiters on auto box, few other things but will not do any adaptions ie suspension heights but for the money I think its worth having.

Sounds like just what I need then plus it's got the added bonus of having its own display module whereas the RSW needs a separate laptop or tablet for the display.

Do you remember which parameters it reads on the auto box - the main one I need to know is the gearbox oil temperature?

Its been a while since I had it plugged in but yes it does read gearbox temp, we used it to check temp when changing gearbox oil I would have to plug it in again to remind my self what else it does, mine lives in its pouch under drivers seat along side tom tom, hivis vest and pair of rigger gloves.

No need to spend that much unless Storey has put the price up. A standard ODB cable will work with the software which cost about £120 IIRC.
