Is my immobiliser (TD5) stopping it starting?

I need help!! Just been installing extra driving lights, using a new dash LR switch/relay etc linked to the blue/white main beam wire on the column stalk. Everything works except it won't start!
I used PaulMC's wiring diagram on another thread and tested with meter as I went.
The ignition sequence using the key all works as it should and there is a signal at the SM relay in the main fuse box under the dash when I turn the key to start. BUT, there is no trigger power getting thro to the Starter motor solenoid. I have checked the relay and even swapped it with an adjacent one but no joy.
I suspect the Immobiliser - have I inadvertently upset it somehow and now it thinks I am a thief?
It turns on/off properly when I press the key fob buttons.
If the immobiliser wants to kill the car, how does it do it?

My truck is an 03 TD5 110DC.

What is the alarm indicatot LED doing during this?

Have you checked the starter motor fly lead is getting power? If it has power try giving the fly lead a wiggle cos they are prone to getting corrosion on the connectors. This usually does the trick. If there is no power at the fly lead then you can start looking elsewhere.

Thx Ratty.
I spoke to Martin at N.Devon 4X4 at luntime. He was sure it was not the immobiliser but advised checking the route to the Smotor from the column. I checked again and discovered the earth side of the sm relay trigger a bit suspect. Too dark now - will investigate more tm.
I'm wishing I hadn't started this - huge pity LR didn't anticipate folks wanting extra light - would have bin easy to pre wire. The loom is so big another coupla wires would'nt have noticed!
I discovered that 2 of the "blank" switch positions on the TD5 centre consol (top row) are pre-wired. Any idea what they might be? - please don't tell me they're for lights !!!!

As you have a double-cab, you won't have the Rear Wiper, Rear Wash-Wiper or Heated Rear Window switches fitted.

The wiring and connectors for them will be there in the main (bulkhead) wiring harness as far as the main harness/chassis harness connectors on the engine compartment side of the bulkhead, and possibly, also in the chassis harness as far as behind the OSR lamp cover.
