Have to get that checked, so answer is don't know
However. Spoke to guy at garage who usually does work and he thinks the ignition issue may be read coil. So putting diagnostics on next week when local guy gets a chance.
Nice new issue appeared out of nowhere today. Replacement head unit put in , during her long visit to garage last year. No issues , played as should. Battery changed a couple of days ago , all ok........
Today I get out switch her off, go do a few things. Come back and she wants a code to give full function. I can still have music but nothing else. Two problems with that, I do not have a code, and Land Rover have no code registered to my vehicle, the other is, even if they did, this is not the stereo for this vehicle. I do not know registration of vehicle it came out of.
Ahhhhh Range Rovers gotta love em ;)

On some vehicles not having the correct unit can drain the battery, they just don't power down, although you have turned them off.

Whoever fitted the replacement head unit to your vehicle must have had a code surely. You say it was fitted recently, was this done by your garage?

I always turn everything off before switching off. Unit switches off.

Not for you but for all reading I think I have to repeat: all issues now showing have been showing since last year. She went to usual garage in August, got her back end of November. Issues back within second time of driving after leaving garage. Only new issue is today's head unit wobble.

For others, if you switch the radio off, take out the ignition key, the wrong head unit can still drain the battery, and won't turn off, this is a common problem on some cars, not saying Land Rover and the can bus needs changing to the correct one

I'll get the local guy to check if there's a drain but the screen goes off and on wake up the splash screen comes up. So would think it's going to sleep.

Look at this, he turns it off and pulls the key out, not that but some things wont work on the car

I'll let the usual garage have a look when she goes back. I still have original head unit. Which it turned out hadn't needed replacing, when it was.

I’ve just ordered a fuse tester so when you switch it off you can check all the relevant fuses to see I’ve any are drawing current then all you have to do is fool it into thinking the bonnet and door is shut and check them all

I know this is a totally different vehicle, but.
Years ago I had an early 80's Range Rover which I used as a toy for weekends, had to take the battery off after playing, otherwise the battery would be flat. Got fed up with it and took it to a local ignition/electrical specialists. Chap asked a few questions, looked under bonnet for about a minute, side cutters came out and he started snipping wires. There you go sir, job done.
The fault was with the replacement radio, even with everything turned off it was trying to retract an electric ariel which was not there, just a slight drain but constant.

had my head unit ask for a code a while back took battery off charged it and put back on and it cleared the code request.
and a side note about battery's, asked my garage mate to get me a battery but explained i didn't want the size listed, so being the sort of guy he is he rang yaser tec department guy on the other end says correct i don't want the listed battery, any range rover doing less than 20k a year should fit a stop start battery apparently they hold there charge better and charge up quicker having now fitted one i wait to see if he is right

So that would be almost all range rovers as the average mileage is said to be 12K a year, so jlr under speck there batterys.

Agreed - though hardly a surprise IMHO  , it's all part of the scam to get "us" to buy a new car - "we" get fed up with it not starting etc ....

The supposed spec for a D1 is 54 Ah - which is hilariously small   :D

Just rereading some of this thread, couple of things spring to mind on the code showing up on screen (my screen display is different now after changing to dvd satnav), I recall seeing somewhere that you could set a code as extra security so even with key in ignition on no start till enter code so if car still starts think you can ignore that, other thing that springs to mind (and please dont spank me if already try`d it ) have you done a battery reset ?

Car starts, or it has been. Have yet to try today ;)
Battery reset after replacing battery? No.
Odd thing about stereo is, it was fine when new battery put in at start of week. Drove her a few times. Then out of the blue, started her up and the 'code' screen came up.

Anyone want to play spot the difference? These are today's pics.

Put fuse back in this morning. Didn't make any difference to all the other faults :(
Tonight I'm leaving the fuses in. Let's see what happens
