Hi All,

I have a series 2 year 2000, changed the air bags 3000 miles ago, drove to France and around, all great, I have noticed that she dosnt seem to be running as high as she was.
Even when I press the button to rise her manually, it beeps and flashes(as it should) but dosnt rise, could this be the compresser or something else.
Would be very grateful for any ideas:mad: Thanks

Well yes, it could be the compressor or something else.

Seriously, have a read up in the Discovery and Common Faults and Questions sections, it's very likely that this has been covered ... ;)

Either you're lying and didn't read the obvious thread ...

http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f38/disco-ii-air-suspension-definitive-guide-61211.html

Or you found it but didn't read it 'cos you missed this bit on the very first post in the thread paragraph titled "TROUBLESHOOTING".

"Sinking on both sides and not able to regain height is probably a failed compressor or faulty valve block. Some people have claimed to source just the valve block, mostly the compressor and valve block come as one unit. The Compressor is very easy to change. Expect to pay about £200 for a new unit."

FFS, it's not rocket science ...

Do the words "not able to regain height" mean nothing then?

FFS, this question is asked so many times in so many different ways ... can you not speak/read/understand slight variations to the English language?

Have you done any research on the issue you have? Why don't you provide a decent description of what's happening?

So the ride height is not achieved .. what have you tried so far? Have you tried lifting it fully, dropping it and lifting it again? Are you sure all doors are shut? there's so many things that can be asked that could help and all you say is a couple of lines worth.

Are there any airlines off? Can you hear any hissing? Does the compressor run slowly, not at all, intermittently, all the time, as fast as a fast thing on steroids etc etc. Give some detail, explain what you've done so far and help might be available, but as it is we're stabbing in the dark.

Hence my flippant first reply, which, indeed, was factually completely correct. To get the right answer, you first need to ask the right question.

Are you 4 real or just having a bad day, if you want to vent whatever your problems are you might vent them in a different direction.
I was stupidly under the impression that this was a site that you could get help, so far you have called me a lier and now you are telling me I cant read or understand the english language.
I never said I was a mechanic, I was just looking for some advice, and I certainly didnt expect to get such rude answers from what was supposed to be a friendly site(that the joke of the year)
With regard to all your questions, (as I explained I was not a mechanic just a discovery owner) If I hadnt have checked most of what you said I wouldnt have contacted this site for advice, but I have got it sorted thanks to another site where I was treated with some respect and a little understanding...............

Look, just read back how many times the forum gets asked the same question in fourteen hundred different ways ... then add that to me having a bad day.

Glad you got sorted, btw .. ;)

And as you say you got it sorted, why not post what cured it, or where you got the answer from, that way you're contributing to the forum and general knowledge-base, not just asking and receiving.
