Is a wiper a wiper?

I'm getting the old girl ready for the MOT and was just looking at replacing the 3 wipers but the prices seem to range from not more than a fiver for 3 to 24 quid for just the front ones (RRP £32.57 apparently!)

And just wondered if you bought cheap they would be crap and need replacing often or if the others are just hugely overpriced?

Avoid recent bosch as crap

I buy Valeo for about a tenner a pair in my supermarket. Usually last 2 winters.

I brought a set of 2 from poundland for my bm. (Yes they cost a £) Did the job but only lasted a couple of months.

Bought bearmach (?) ones for my disco. Blade did not fit the screen about an inch of the blade was floating in mid air. Went to Halfords spent £22 on front ones and the difference is remarkable. Won't be buying the £8 bearmach ones again!!!

Try getting some aero ones. IMO they're much better as they will not drag or smear.

I also prefer the look, I have Bosch Aerotwins on mine.

Had the Bosch flat wipers on the front screen for about 18 months, cant fault them. (cant remember the actual name of these, they have no metal support and seem to conform to the screen better). Bought off fleabay for not much money.

They're the ones I'm on about! Fitted them to all the cars I've had ... Always sold the car before they needed replacing!

Ahh, just had a look and they are the Bosch aero. So, I agree with the previous posters.

Must agree, Bosch Aero I've had on 2 yrs + and still going strong.

They are so cheap I just change them every 6 months

I buy flat aero type from home and bargains, £3 each and are spot on and last ages, last set were on 18 months no problem, just bought some more for the replacement disco, they hold up well even wiping copious amounts of mud lol

They arrived, they are fitted, they are great!

As long as they stand the test of time (which I'm sure they will) I would highly recommend them.
