Is 4.0 Plenum the same as 4.6 one?

Hi, I have the opportunity of getting a brand new 4.0 Plenum/throttle and the TPS at a very cheap price. I have a poorly 4.6 that needs a new TPS and therefore would need setting up again anyway. SO my question is - apart form the '4.0' stamped on top is the Plenum any different form my 4.6 one?

Thanks and sorry if it's a silly question!

My rangie is a 4.0 running a 4.6 plenum with no problems.

Only difference I could see on mine is a take off for the cruise control which mine doesn't have fitted and the same with the throttle.

would be worth checking if you have cruise on yours as not all 4.0 came with it.

This is the one I am looking at - looks like its got everything - if i need to swap the linkage over i reckon that's fairly simple?

So the throttle diameter is the same and everything? Been searching for the part number on Google for some info but there's bugger all info out there that I can find!

Thanks for your help so far!

Yep, the plenum was changed and swapped like for like. pipe sizes the same etc.

Only difference I can see is the lack of a take off for cruise on that one pictured but I can't remember off the top of my head if its on the top or the bottom of the plenum chamber. I'll nip out with the torch later and check!

Handy for you, I have the old one in the shed too so if you want me to check anything else I can.

just checked, outlet for cruise is on the lower half so you should be fine and the throttle linkage on that new one has the link for the cruise as well. Should be a straight swap.

Brill thanks so much for checking - so now just need to find a decent (or new of not too much!) IAC and I'm away! I am assuming mine is knackered as it flies out if its left connected and the ignition is switched off with it unbolted!
