Hi, after parting with my TD6 last year I have been missing my Rangie and after working hard and saving my pennies I find myself in the position to be able to get a new toy. I've seen a facelifted 56 plate TDV8 which is a smidge under £11,000. It's a lovely drive but with 138k miles on it I am worried it might end up being a money pit. My old TD6 needed a gearbox, is the TDV8 gearbox a better unit? I've also heard turbo's fail at this kind of mileage and can be many thousands to fix. Whilst I am fully aware you can't run these motors on a shoestring budget does anyone out there have experience of higher mileage TDV8s, and an idea of the probable failure points. Vehicle has full LR history
I suppose I could get some kind of extended warranty but are they worth the paper they are printed on?
