Irritating rattle

Hi, I mean it's a Land Rover right, they make noises....but.....this is REALLY irritating. When I go through the gears there's a rattle that seems to be coming from were the daylight sensor is in the middle of the dash. It's not that, but it's around there...sounds like something's loose. Honestly, if you heard it you'd wanna trace it too! Any ideas?

2001 TD5 Auto

I have 2000 TD5 Auto, but a GS, so I don't have a daylight sensor.
I just have eyes! So wot's the sensor for? The rear view mirror, self-dipping headlights, self-switching-on headlights?
Just wondrin!

Right! Understand now!
My D1 has a heated front screen but never realised it had a daylight sensor.
It did rattle though.

What did it turn out to be?

Rust in the screen surround!

But I suspect yours will be either something dropped or fallen off behind the dash, Or outside, where the rear of the bonnet sits.

I've actually no idea what it is - not your normal buzz though. Its loud and definitely sounds like something is loose but I have no idea at all where it s coming from - looks like I'll have to remove the dash its that bad.

Hi, That sensor is for the air con. Senses sun heat.
