IRD oil seal

Soon to be replacing IRD and VCU just waiting for the new components to arrive. Does anyone know if a new IRD comes with the O ring oil seal (IRD to gearbox)? If not any ideas on its size or part number. Have ordered a parts book but it'll arrive at the same time so I need to get ahead as things take about a week to get here.
Gearbox Oil !!!. MTF94 no hope in hell of getting any here. Whats the equivalent. Anyone got any preferences or recomendations.

I think the part number for the IRD-Gearbox oil seal is YX100490X

What a palava over the oil .
So MTF 94 is made by Texaco for LR and is unavailable at any other outlet!!!
Looks like a good equivalent is Castrol SMX-S sae 75w-85 API GLI-4.
Seems you can realy screw things up if you bung in any old stuff lying around. API-5 disolves the bronze

Just received the o-ring for the gearbox to IRD shaft.

Part No. TYX 100490

Dimensions:

Internal diam 60mm approx
External diam 65mm approx
O-ring thickness 2.5mm

It was from a LR dealership

Price £3.30

You can buy o-rings for pence at a time, the only thing would be the polymer of the rubber. The official one looks more like silicone, shiny coating.

Any O-ring supplier should be able to advise on polymer depending on application, oil resistant, heat resistant etc

I was going to suggest UNG100060L IRD UNIT OIL SEAL.

I wonder if the TYX100490 is the seal that is packaged with 8510295:

I phoned the dealers and asked for the IRD-gearbox oil seal TYX100490 was the part they quoted.

The O-ring in the link looks too big, judging by the size of the seal compared to the size of the IRD flange

So then, what's a UNG100060L?

That is a spring oil seal, for the likes of the driveshafts or IRD flange seal.

The IRD - Gearbox seal is definitely an O-ring, according to some of the articles I have on IRD's.

Plus that site is claiming its the only seal that can be replaced???
