That was my thought I just see £££ signs lol id prob just build another
I cant see the prices coming down either, I was searching last night to see if there was anything decent & at a good
price I couldn't find anything. Surprize Surprize

Is why I got a P38. No chance of half decent 90 for £500 these days. More like £5G

I looked a few around 5k & they still needed work no where as nice as mine I only looked as im a noisy git
P38s are thin on the ground here I could only find a couple for sale, most folk have rickety old defenders a lot of 110s
or new landys not much in between I have most of them haha

P38 prices have crept up since I’ve had mine, still cheap enough.
Not easy to find decent one, but if you do find a real good one, people give up on them due to simple issues ; grab one.... mate has a RR also 1 year older than mine (so is a late Classic), one owner (him) from new insurance valued it @£63,000!!!!!

I'm going to carry on with my tale of the elf & his TD-5 who both live in the shire - I find it very therapeutic... The shock wasn't the shocks, the shock was the cost of replacing the ACE pipes "£640 in parts alone & the are a bxxxxr to fit" said the mechanic. The little elf was in shock & cried all the way home, & as if in sympathy the TD-5 also cried & the tears drip, dripped from her sunroof. Well, thought the little elf, its fair enough as Land Rover had told him that the precious metal for the ACE pipes was only found on the Freelander islands in the South Pacific, mined by the locals & then sent by private jet to Solihull-land. The work was done, as the little elf loved how his TD-5 handled with ACE, & often swept through corners in a manner unbecoming of an elderly TD5. TBC...

@Perrin Welcome. What a refreshing change from the usual, 'I bought a Range Rover cos it was cheap and broken now don't want to pay upkeep prices, fix it for me,cheaply!', intros.

I am sorry for my lack of posts recently, but 'the shire' has been flooded & TD-5 has been very busy helping all the creatures get to safety... A few weeks ago the little elf had an awful shock. TD5 went to have its usual 10,000 mile service at the garage in dingly dell, but they told the elf about all the rust on the rear half-chassis, & that it needed a lot of welding. The little elf had a brother in the far forests of wales who told him about a replacement quarter or half chassis, but the latter would cost over £1000. That was more than the little elf earned in a year, collecting the special mushrooms in the dingle. He knew that this could be the end for TD-5; no more adventures, no more taking buxom nurses to work in the floods, no more .........
The little elf cried for a week & then he thought that he would travel to the big city beyond the mountains, to the actual garage that had MOT'd her before; maybe they could help? Last week the elf packed up some sandwiches, & made the trip & as if by a miracle, the nice mechanic said 'it's not that bad', we can weld it up for £220. And so it was; they even gave TD-5 an MOT which she passed with NO Advisories! There really was a god - the hero that was TD-5 will live for another year. TBC

Hi Range Roller, yes the shire has now dried out, & the dingles are awash with beautiful wild garlic & frisky creatures. "It's almost time for TD-5's annual clean", thought the little elf... The little elf had actually been rather busy, as he had applied for a business interruption loan, since he couldn't deliver his 'special' mushrooms to his customers. The little elf wasn't good with spreadsheets; made worse by the fact that the shire only had one computer, (a Commodore 64!). Apparently broadband was coming with speeds of up to 0.0002 mb/s, so that was something to look forward to
So TD5 has temporarily halted its charge to a quarter of a million miles, & is enjoying the spring sunshine, with her tyres half-inflated (all the tyres loose air for some reason???), & currently has a pheasant on her roof.
I know...., I will wash TD-5 & post the pictures to all my new friends on landyZone if the Commodore is up to it...

Hope you like the pics. I now have the holy trinity warning lights in the dash, but went off thoughtfully for the MOT & disappear after a long run. No fault with any of the systems, just the warning lights!

No, regret don't know how to do that.... do I need a code reader device?

Pump them up and Good soak with soapy water will show where tyres are leaking.

Could be valves which are easy to change with the little tool (cheap enough), beads where it’s seated on rim or something in the treads.
You’ll see the bubbles
