Hello all,

Im a newbie and have just aquired a 2001 Freelander 1.8s Hardtop. To be honest did not pay a lot of money for it. Its in good condition 45k on clock and LRSH up until 2006 (local garage after this).

There is a few things wrong with it, the warped front brake discs, and a problem with clutch hydraulics that the previous owner was quoted by main dealer £175.00 to sort.

However I have noticed an occasional knocking coming from the rear when changing from 1st to 2nd. Does not happen often and only changing up. Does anyone have any idea what this could be, im in 2 minds to sell vehicle

rear diff mounts - particularly the front one.
rear prop UJ's.
broken chassis or rear sub frame mount.

in that order

sell it anyway - more trouble than they are worth :(

Thanks for that, will take your advice before it gets worse. Shame these freelanders are so unreliable as I quite like it.
