intermittent idle when hot

After i have the been for a drive and got the car up to temp every time i got to come to a stop junction or traffic lights after the clutch has been dipped the idle drops right down to about 300 rpm the oil light flickers then back up to about 800 sometimes fluctuates up and down abit but is fine when cold / slightly warm

Any ideas cheers dale

Is it petrol or diesel, if revs drop that low the oil pressure is dropping and will cut out. If its a petrol engine check the advance and retard pipe work is okay sometimes the valve sticks.

its a petrol 1.8 ill check the pipe work and try cleaning the valve cheers
