My 09 freelander 2 had the rear differential refurbished some eight months ago, after quite a noise coming up and getting worse and the following ....... On occasion, the car would start to judder so much I thought the wheels were falling off, with the steering wheel shaking. I stopped checked around and found nothing loose. Drove off carefully and all was fine. This has happened about half a dozen times, and after each, I of course stopped hoping to identify whatever the fault was, only to find all was ok and the car drove fine .....until next time.
Very unnerving when driving on motorway plus not knowing if/when it will happen again.
Occasionally, the terrain response knocks off. However restarting engine then again all's well again.
Took it in to have it checked, but as the problem isn't constant its proved difficult to locate.
I'm hoping someone may have an idea what I can do next.
Thanks in advance.

It may be the haldex unit, it can be serviced (although LR say not) try googling it and there are several descriptions of how to do it, you can get a filter and some Volvo oil on tbay as a kit.
Did mine this year although it was not too bad,
