Intermittent Burning Smell

Help! For some reason when driving, my series III 88" 2.25 petrol develops an intermittent burning smell which is very strong in the cab and to anyone sitting in the rear tub. Smell comes and goes and often when I get back home can't find trace of it anywhere.

Any suggestions as to where I should start looking? Engine is fine; temp all normal and runs sweet as a nut. Hubs not overheating either. Service in 2 weeks time but would rather she does not incinerate before then!

I got that a while back and then realised my handbrake wasn't quite off. Just a thought

Does it go off road at all? Could be mud etc on the exhaust, can give quite a strong almost bonfire like smell.

Check first occupants of rear tub for excessive vindaloo consumption?

Could be electrical, check the wiring behind the steering column trim where the ignition switch is, also check behind the instrument cluster, or maybe in the engine bay.
If not then possibly on of the wheels is catching something, failing that maybe as davy says something on the exhaust or maybe the manifold.
Do you have the correct rating of fuses in?.
Unlikely but possibly the clutch is slipping or the brake(s) are binding, thats a diffo kinda smell, wires smell like rubber burning as obviously do tyres, brakes and clutchs have their own stink.
