Hi help is needed my old mans got a 1999 xedi and im trying to save him some cash the interior fan stopped working on all speeds apart from 4 which is flat out so i checked google and it came up with rezpac coils for the resistor which is located on the side of fan replaced coils by soldering and fitted back into fan and attached wiring plug back on then started engine and tried it oddly enough it still works on 4 only is this one of those freak things that seem to happen to these cars or wot....?

Hi vic checked on this thread and it doesnt coincide with this problem the blower only works on flat out ive replaced the heater coils and still no good could it be the dash switch faulty..?? any more advice would be much appeciated..

Had a look at RAVE and for 2001 onwards would appear to have roughly the same set up - i'll have a look at Microcat later to identify your resistor pack.

Had a quick look at Microcat:

There are two resistor packs listed and as I dont know your Vin No.

JGM100140 up to Vin 1A306865

JGM000020 up to Vin 1A999999

From a quick search on the part numbers, seems they have been superceeded and both are now the same part if bought from an independent anyway, cost around the £20 mark.

Hope this helps

Hi biggeeeee ive already replaced the heater resistor coils with rezpak ones had to solder them in...

Forgot to ask a question for mystery... i didnt realise there would be a relay do you know whereabouts its situated...? Thanx

blower relay energised by switch position 4 by-passing resistor pack all the other positions fed through resistor's ,if you pull fuse 8 the feed to the blower relay is isolated ( a good way to confirm the blower relay has not welded on )and the blower is then fed from fuse 4 to switch and then via resistors to blower motor.if the blower does not work with fuse 8 out or the blower relay out then the problem has to be the resistor pack or wiring to and from the resistor pack

Cheers for that tip mystery will give it a try as soon as i can also u say the relay is behind the centre console.. do you get to it from behind then..? also the fan only works when flat out ianda... Thanx
